NTPC Recruitment Selection Process for Executive Trainees:
- Eligible candidates must have appeared for Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE)-2020
- Based on the GATE-2020 marks and requirement, candidates will be shortlisted for the further selection process (GD and Interview)
Note: GATE scores of 2020 will only be valid.
Final Merit List:
- GATE-2020 marks – 85% weightage
- GD marks – 5% weightage
- Interview marks – 10% weightage
Application fee:
- For General/EWS/OBC Category: Rs.150/-
Note: SC/ST/PwBD/ Ex-SM/ Departmental candidates are exempted from payment of application fees.

Educational Qualification:
Head of Executive/Executive (Excavation):
- Engineering Degree in Mechanical/ Mining Machinery from recognized Indian University/Institute.
- Experience: 10 & 18 years post qualification executive experience in relevant area.
Executive (Mine Planning-RQP):
- Engineering Degree in Mining or Post Graduate Degree in Geology/ Applied Geology with Recognized Qualified Person (RQP) Certification of Ministry of Coal, Govt of India.
- Experience: 14 years post qualification executive experience in relevant area.
Head of Mine Surveyor/ Asst. Mine Surveyor/ Mine Surveyor:
- Diploma in Civil/Mining /Mines Survey. Holder of valid Mine Surveyor Certificate of Competency of DGMS for Coal
- Experience: 20 & 10 years post qualification experience
Upper Age Limit:
- Head of Executive: 52 years
- Executive (Excavation): 47 years
- Executive (Mine Planning-RQP): 47 years
- Head of Mine Surveyor: 47 years
- Asst. Mine Surveyor/ Mine Surveyor: 37 years for Asst Mine Surveyor & 42 years for Mine Surveyor.
